1. Account & Identity Data Collection
To enable seamless cloud synchronization across multiple devices, Smart Reminder Hub allows users to create an account. When you register, we collect and store the following data on our secure servers:
- Full Name & Email Address: Used solely for account identification and authentication.
- Passwords: Securely hashed; never stored in plain-text.
- Profile Pictures (Optional): If you choose to upload a profile picture, the image file is hosted securely on our servers.
We do not sell, share, or distribute your identity data to third-party marketing networks, advertisers, or behavioral analytics engines. Your identity is strictly used for the core functionality of the app.
2. Local Automation Profiles
Our application implements direct device automations to streamline your schedules. All advanced operations related to physical sensors and hardware configurations are processed strictly locally on your device:
- Volume Caching: Audio configurations and decibel profiles are preserved locally within the application sandbox.
- Wi-Fi & Bluetooth Toggles: Network interfaces are activated or deactivated on-demand on the operating system layer, directly based on your automation criteria.
- Location Detection: Device location settings checks are evaluated strictly within the local runtime memory to ensure feature availability.
Crucially: No geographical coordinates, device MAC addresses, router SSIDs, or network hardware profiles are ever transmitted to our server or any third-party gateway.
3. Secure Cloud Synchronization
To ensure your data is always backed up and available, your custom reminders (such as Bills, EMIs, Subscriptions, Medical routines, Academic schedules, and Gas cylinder bookings) are synchronized automatically in the background with our cloud database over high-grade HTTPS connections. If you are offline, the app securely queues your changes locally and will automatically resume the sync process the moment an internet connection is re-established.
Our C# ASP.NET Web API enforces standard security patterns:
- JWT Authentication: Account logins and session calls utilize secured/signed JSON Web Tokens.
- Database Isolation: All database entries (such as EMI loan tenures, medication names, and biller figures) are linked exclusively to your unique user identifier.
- Zero Sharing: We do not sell, share, or use your reminder records for advertising, profiling, or analytics. They are processed only to provide sync and app functionality.
4. Requested Permissions & Rationale
To deliver full-featured automated actions, the Android application requests permissions on a strict "least-privilege" basis. These include:
- SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM: Required to ensure time-sensitive reminders and automation schedules execute with pinpoint accuracy.
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Required on modern Android devices to display your alerts and reminders natively.
- MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS / ACCESS_NOTIFICATION_POLICY: Needed for silent/DND/profile automation features.
- ACCESS_WIFI_STATE / CHANGE_WIFI_STATE: Used to inspect Wi-Fi state and automatically adjust it for automation support.
- BLUETOOTH / BLUETOOTH_ADMIN / BLUETOOTH_CONNECT: Required to support Bluetooth automation actions based on your quiet-hour scheduler profile rules.
- RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Required to safely restore local alarm managers and reminder notification queues after device restarts.
5. Verification and Support
We commit to maintaining this high standard of data integrity. Should we release future firmware upgrades or Web API iterations, our strict local-first data processing stance will remain unchanged.
